A Season of Distinction: Celebrating Excellence

As winter recedes across the foothills of the Blue Ridge, the estate awakens with a quiet sense of anticipation. Vines begin to stir beneath the surface, the light shifts ever so slightly, and in the cellar, the culmination of past seasons reveals itself in a different way. Awards season arrives not with fanfare, but with affirmation, a moment to reflect on the craft, patience, and precision that define each bottle.

This past year has been one of remarkable distinction for Trump Winery, a season that underscores both the consistency of our portfolio and the extraordinary potential of Virginia wine on the world stage. From international competitions to the Commonwealth’s most respected stage, the recognition has been as meaningful as it has been humbling.

At the 2025 San Francisco International Wine Competition, one of the most respected benchmarks in global winemaking, two of our wines were awarded Double Gold, an honor reserved for those that receive unanimous praise from every judge. The Presidential Reserve and our 2018 Sparkling Reserve stood among a select few, while the 2021 New World Reserve earned an additional Gold medal, further highlighting the depth and versatility of our collection. There is a particular satisfaction in this kind of recognition, knowing that these wines, crafted here in the Monticello AVA, are evaluated blindly alongside the finest in the world and emerge with such distinction.

Closer to home, the 2026 Virginia Governor’s Cup marked a defining moment. In an unprecedented achievement, every wine we entered was awarded Gold, the most of any winery in the competition. From the elegance of our Blanc de Blanc and Blanc de Noir to the structure and depth of our New World Reserve and Presidential Reserve, each bottle reflects a commitment to excellence that begins in the vineyard and carries through every stage of winemaking.

These accolades are not simply milestones. They are a reflection of place. The rolling hills of our 1,300-acre estate, the distinct character of our soils, and the rhythm of the seasons all contribute to wines that are unmistakably expressive of Virginia. In a region celebrated as Wine Enthusiast’s “Wine Region of the Year,” there is a shared sense of momentum, a collective pursuit of quality that continues to elevate what is possible here.

Yet for all the recognition, the true reward remains the experience of the wines themselves. A glass of our sparkling wine enjoyed on the terrace as the sun sets behind the mountains. A pour of Chardonnay Reserve shared over an unhurried dinner. A tasting flight that unfolds slowly, each wine telling its own story of the vintage and the land.

Awards may mark a moment in time, but the experience is ongoing. We invite you to discover these celebrated wines where they were born, in the tasting room, among the vines, or during a stay at Albemarle Estate, where the beauty of the landscape and the elegance of the wines come together in a way that feels both timeless and entirely of the moment.
