2017 New World Reserve- Gold Medal Winner
Awards:
Gold, San Francisco Chronicle
Silver, San Francisco Int'l
Silver, Virginia Governor's Cup
Tasting notes:
This signature Bordeaux-style blend is complex and round with well-structured tannins and developed flavors of toasted oak, currant, and black cherry. Just released, this wine will develop and evolve in the bottle softening into a seamless wine with aging potential. Enjoy with steak, lamb, and hard, salty cheeses such as gruyère.

Terroir:
This wine is made from 100% estate-grown fruit. Our vines are sheltered in the foothills of Carter’s Mountain in the Monticello American Viticultural Area (AVA).
Vintage Notes:
After frost in April led to a reduced yield, a mild summer and a warm, dry August and September resulted in wines with a great depth of flavor and structure for aging.
Winemaker's Notes:
The New World Reserve grapes are hand-harvested and sorted then gravity fed to tank where it undergoes a cold maceration for 4-5 days. The grapes are then fermented entirely in stainless tanks with manual punchdowns. After alcoholic fermentation, an extended post maceration allows for additional body and structure. Malolactic fermentation in barrel softens the wine by removing malic acid. Only free run wines are used in New World Reserve and are aged in 50% new and 50% 1 year old French oak barrels for 18 months before bottling.
